From Mumbai

By Train: Take a train to Neral Junction. From there, either take the Toy Train or a sharing cab to Dasturi Point.

By Road: Drive via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and follow the scenic ghat road to Dasturi Point.

Visitors from Mumbai can take a train upto Neral Junction, which is a train station at the bottom of Matheran mountain. If direct trains to Neral Junction are unavailable; one can take a train upto Karjat station and then take another train from Karjat to Neral station. From Neral station, one can take a Toy Train which reaches Matheran station in two hours time.

While travelling to Matheran by road, get on to the Mumbai Pune Expressway at Panvel and take the first exit (Shedung Exit) to head towards Karjat. Take a left at Karjat Phata Chowk and head upto Karjat Chaarphata. From here, take a left and head towards Hutatma Chowk which is the starting point of Matheran hill. This will take you to Dasturi point (Dasturi car park) (which is the last point upto which any vehicle is allowed). The road to Dasturi point is a 7km ghat which is a scenic route

From Pune

While travelling to Matheran by road; head towards Mumbai on the Pune-Mumbai expressway and take the Khopoli exit. Take a right at Karjat Phata Chowk and head upto Karjat Chaarphata. From here, take a left and head towards Hutatma Chowk which is the starting point of Matheran hill. From Dasturi Point

Options: Take an E-Rickshaw, Toy Train, or Horseback to Matheran Station. From there, it’s a short walk to the hotel.

Visitors have to pay an entrance fee of rs 50/- for each adult and rs 25/- for each child in order to enter matheran. After taking the entry ticket, one has to walk a few steps upto the E-rickshaw stand. One can use any of the following modes of transport in order to reach Matheran station;

E-rickshaw: One can travel to Matheran station by E-rickshaw which charges rs 35/- per person and would drop you upto the E-rickshaw Matheran stand (which is next to Matheran train station).

Toy Train: One can travel to Matheran station by Toy Train from Aman Lodge station which is at a walkable distance of about 250 meters from the main entrance (entry ticket counter). The charges for that are rs 55/- for a general ticket and rs 95/- for a first class ticket.

Horse back: One can travel directly to the Hotel on Horse-back from the entry point. Charges for this vary according to season.

Hand-cart: One can travel directly to the Hotel by a Hand cart. Charges for this vary according to season.

From Matheran train station or Matheran E-rickshaw stand, Hotel Premdeep is at a 650 meters walking distance. From Matheran train station, one has to walk towards the main market area. One will see Ram Mandir on the right, and then upon walking further one will see Jama Masjid on the right. There are steps beside Jama Masjid which will lead upto a road; upon reaching this road turn Left. From here, Hotel Premdeep is just a minute away. Keep walking until you see Hotel Premdeep on your right.
